The California Pharmacists Association Conference, Western Pharmacy Exchange will be taking place in San Diego this coming weekend.
Michelle Sherman, President at MichRx Pharmacist Consulting Services is honored to be speaking during one of the sessions on Saturday April 14th.
Michelle will be presenting: Saving Lives: The Pharmacists Role in HIV Care.
The HIV Pharmacist plays a critical role in HIV Continuum of Care and Improvements in patient adherence & QOL resulting in decreased healthcare costs. In Advanced practice settings, the pharmacist provides MTM services in collaboration with the healthcare team to coordinate improved adherence, minimize adverse reactions and drug interactions to therapy.
Under collaborative care agreements, the pharmacist is able to review labs, recommend additional labs and changes to drug therapy. Pharmacist plays an important role in HIV prevention and PrEP programs. The pharmacist interventions show improved outcomes and care for the patient and keep them engaged in care.
